A friendly wager was set by the general managers David McGrath of New Hampshire Motor Speedway and Ed Clark of Atlanta Motor Speedway for the big football game on Feb. 5.
McGrath and Clark put everything on the line from regional food favorites to premium race tickets for the title game between the New England Patriots and Atlanta Falcons.
"I mean, come on. Tom Brady? Bill Belichick? Do I need to say anything more," said McGrath. "The Patriots have become synonymous with winning championships. It's what they do."
After an epic game, the Patriots overcame a 25-point deficit midway through the third quarter - the biggest comeback in history -to secure their fifth championship title. Thanks to the Patriots' epic rally, New Hampshire Motor Speedway won the following wager with its sister track from Georgia:
- New England Patriots flag was hung outside the Atlanta Motor Speedway office building the next day and will be flying again during NASCAR race week Feb. 27-March 5
- While wearing a Patriots jersey, Ed Clark will present David McGrath and the July 16 New Hampshire 301 race winner with Georgia Peaches in Sunoco Victory Lane
- Four fans of the Patriots and New Hampshire Motor Speedway will win premium tickets to the March 5 Folds of Honor QuikTrip 500 at Atlanta Motor Speedway ($400 value)
