NASCAR weekend at “The Magic Mile” proved to be successful for local nonprofits with the dedication of the New Hampshire Chapter of Speedway Children’s Charities (SCCNH), the official charity of New Hampshire Motor Speedway (NHMS), and the many volunteer groups who helped fundraise more than $86,000 during the June 21-23 NASCAR weekend event.

Speedway Children’s Charities

SCCNH hosted seven events over the course of race week (one additional event, Laps for Charity presented by NBT Bank, was canceled due to inclement weather), including a 50/50 Raffle, Sign the Track Wall Banner, Track Treasures Shop, Track Walk presented by NBT Bank, a Cornhole Tournament and the Wicked Good Live Auction presented by PPG, plus presented a new opportunity: putting once-in-a-lifetime NASCAR weekend experiences up for bid in an Online Auction. These events helped SCCNH raise more than $60,000 for local children’s charities and groups.

“We may have started the weekend out having to cancel an event due to the weather, but our race fans did not let that spoil their weekend,” said Speedway Children’s Charities New Hampshire Chapter Director and New Hampshire Motor Speedway Director of Marketing Danielle Cyr. “New England race fans showed up! We had so much fun at all of our fundraising events, and we can’t wait to distribute the grants later this year to many New England organizations to help thousands of children in need.”

Each December, SCCNH distributes grants to local nonprofit organizations in the region. In 2023, 40 grants were distributed totaling $131,750. Since its inception in 2009, SCCNH has distributed more than $2.25 million supporting more than 1.4 million children across New England.

SCCNH will host its next fundraising event, Laps for Charity, on Friday, Aug. 9 from 4:30-7 p.m. on the 1.058-mile oval known as “The Magic Mile.” There will also be a featured car show starting at 2 p.m. that same day with proceeds benefitting SCCNH.

Various Fundraising Groups

In addition to funds being raised for SCCNH, teams of motivated fundraising groups from New Hampshire and Massachusetts helped NHMS during NASCAR weekend to benefit various New England nonprofits, which included schools, civil and church groups as well as the New Hampshire Food Bank, Boys and Girls Club of Nashua, Dream Academy, The Sports Museum and Full Circle Farm Therapeutic Horsemanship. From grandstand cleaning to landscaping, parking and concession stands, these volunteers help make the speedway looks its best from green flag to checkered flag. In return for their volunteerism, NHMS donates to the nonprofit organization they represent. This year, 27 volunteer groups raised more than $26,000 during New England’s only NASCAR weekend to help their chosen nonprofits.
