Holiday spirit filled The Palace Theatre in Manchester, N.H. Wednesday as the New Hampshire Chapter of Speedway Children’s Charities (SCCNH), the official charity of New Hampshire Motor Speedway (NHMS), held its 15^th annual Grant Distribution Ceremony. Grants were handed out to 36 local nonprofits totaling $120,000 in front of the festive backdrop from “A Christmas Carol.”

“It’s a really great feeling, and it’s the holiday season, and there’s nothing like giving during the holiday season,” said New Hampshire Motor Speedway Executive Vice President and General Manager David McGrath. “I really have to also give a shout out to NASCAR fans all across New England who are so generous knowing that those dollars they donate are going to help these organizations help children all over New England.”

Since 2009, SCCNH has distributed more than $2.1 million, supporting nearly 1.5 million children throughout the region.

“It’s been a lot of hard work, we’ve had a lot of fun raising it, and it feels so good to be able to see all of these organizations today and be able to give them their money,” said Speedway Children’s Charities New Hampshire Chapter Director and New Hampshire Motor Speedway Director of Marketing Danielle Cyr. “Plans are already in the works for all the fun things that we have planned for fans and supporters of the charity, and we hope to raise a lot more money next year.”

SCCNH is one of 11 chapters around the country, and combined in 2024, Speedway Children’s Charities distributed more than $4 million in grants to hundreds of different charitable organizations across the country, bringing the total funds distributed since 1982 to more than $72.6 million, ensuring many children in need are given the tools to build a better, brighter and healthy future. The money raised comes in large part thanks to the fundraising efforts of 11 Speedway Motorsports facilities and events: Atlanta Motor Speedway, Bristol Motor Speedway, Charlotte Motor Speedway, Dover Motor Speedway, Las Vegas Motor Speedway, NASCAR at COTA, Nashville Superspeedway, NHMS, North Wilkesboro Speedway, Sonoma Raceway and Texas Motor Speedway.

The grants distributed today resulted from fundraising opportunities and events that took place between November 2023 and October 2024:

• The fourth annual 50/50 raffle
• An online auction
• The second annual Top Cop for Kids Motorcycle Skills Challenge presented by Laconia Harley-Davidson with the help of ProRider 603
• A motorcycle Ride to the Racetrack presented by Laconia Harley-Davidson
• Signing the Track Wall Banner prior to the NASCAR Cup Series race
• The Track Treasures Shop
• Track Walk presented by NBT Bank
• The third annual Cornhole Tournament
• Wicked Good Live Auction presented by PPG
• Corvette Car Show
• 24 Hours of Lemons Halloween Hooptiefest

Fundraising for 2025 grants has already begun during the 14^th annual Gift of Lights presented by Ambetter from NH Healthy Families, open nightly through Jan. 5, 2025 at NHMS. A portion of the proceeds from Gift of Lights admissions, race registrations from the Yule Light Up the Night Run/Walk and s’more kit purchases will benefit SCCNH. The 2.5-mile drive-thru light show featuring four million LED lights opens at 4:30 p.m. nightly, depending on the weather. Admission is available for purchase online or at the event entrance for $35 per car or $60 per bus, limousine or RV. SCCNH has raised $451,148 from Gift of Lights since 2011.
