New Hampshire Motor Speedway officials are pleased to announce the promotions of Steve Markos and Kristyn Galante, and the hiring of Hillarie Scott.
Markos will move from his position as vice president of ticket sales and operations to serve as the new vice president of corporate sales. Galante has been promoted from ticket sales manager to the director of ticket sales and operations. Scott will serve as the assistant director of the New Hampshire Chapter of Speedway Children's Charities through the Grant Ceremony in December when she will take over for the departing Cheryl LaPrade as director.
"It is incredibly rewarding to see our staff progress in their careers and take that next step to help this company continue to grow," said David McGrath, executive vice president and general manager of the speedway. "Steve and Kristyn have both done a terrific job in their former capacities and we expect them to keep that momentum going in their new roles. And of course Hillarie brings not only experience, but passion to a position that Cheryl has held so admirably."
Markos joined New Hampshire Motor Speedway in 2015 after spending 14 years with the Boston Celtics. As VP of corporate sales, Markos will be responsible for the leadership and management of all corporate sales activities at the speedway, including all sponsorships, hospitality and corporate ticket sales. Markos will lead a dedicated team of account executives and sales assistants, and will be responsible for collaboratively working with the marketing and operations departments to enhance revenue growth and partnership development.
Markos graduated Cum Laude with a B.S. in Sport Management from the University of Massachusetts - Amherst. Markos resides in Bradford, Mass., where he lives with his wife, Kristen, and their two children, Zachary, 11, and Kian, 8.
Galante also joined the speedway in 2015 after spending five years with the Worcester Sharks of the American Hockey League. As director of ticket sales and operation, Galante will oversee credentialing, renewals, camping and sales incentive programs for fans, while creating and enhancing new revenue opportunities for New England's largest sports and entertainment facility.
Galante is a Summa Cum Laude graduate of Johnson & Wales University with a B.S. in Sports/Entertainment/Event Management. A native of Northborough, Mass., she currently resides in the Lakes Region of New Hampshire in Laconia.
Scott joins New Hampshire Motor Speedway after spending the last year as the executive director of the Race to Read program in Waterbury, Vt. Scott is no stranger to NHMS, however, having worked NASCAR race weekends for the communications department in the Media Center for the last 11 seasons.
As assistant director of the SCC's New Hampshire Chapter, Scott will spend the next five months learning from LaPrade before taking over as director in late December. As director, Scott will oversee all SCC events in the region, as well as the distribution of all fundraising dollars to children in educational, financial, social and medical need across New England.
Scott graduated from Nichols College in 2006 with a B.S. in Business Administration.
