More than 175 riders from all over New England and beyond raced on the 1.6-mile road course at New Hampshire Motor Speedway for 26 races in round four of the Loudon Road Race Series, but three names dominated the wins the weekend: Scott Greenwood, Charles "Jesse" Sandoz and Eric Wood.
Despite the heat, LRRS veteran Scott Greenwood was victorious all weekend on his Yamaha YZF-R6, picking up seven first place finishes, including the MW Grand Prix Dash for Cash, GTU, HW Supersport, HW Superbike, MW Formula 40, MW Supersport and MW Superbike.
"It was hot out there. This is the hottest weekend we've had this year, for sure. We're just trying to stay hydrated, stay in the garage, stay cool and stay out of the sun," said Greenwood after winning $500 in the MW Grand Prix Dash for Cash. "Basically, my mindset was to try to get a good start, which I did, keep my head down and try to put in some clean laps. I had a nice clean race, and I'm very happy with the result."
Alex Guilbeault held a strong second place through the entire MW Grand Prix Dash for Cash, GTU and HW Superbike on his Yamaha YZF-R6 and second place in the Motard on his Husqvarna FC450.
"It was a good race," said Guilbeault after winning $325 in the MW Grand Prix Dash for Cash. "I knew a win today would be second place behind Scotty."
Charles "Jesse" Sandoz took first place six times including the GTL, LW Grand Prix, LW Superbike, Formula 40 Lights, Super Twins and Thunderbike, all on his Ducati Monster 1100 Evo.
Eric Wood led the field to the checkered flag four times on his Kawasaki ZX10 including the Formula 40 Unlimited, Unlimited Grand Prix, Unlimited Supersport and Unlimited Superbike.
This round of LRRS also served as the debut of the all new Kids Zone. Featuring two basketball hoops, hockey nets and sprinklers to cool off in, Kids Zone was a huge hit all weekend.
Round five of the Loudon Road Race Series returns to New Hampshire Motor Speedway Aug. 18-19.
